In 1988, the Swiss federal health department licensed seven psychiatrists to work with MDMA and LSD. One of the psychiatrists offered to train other providers. Dr. Friederike Meckel, an MD and psychotherapist, began training with them in 1992. The license was withdrawn in 1993, and psychedelics were banned in all contexts in Switzerland.
